Orange Smoothie Bowl

Smoothie bowls are similar to smoothies but tend to be thicker, so they are ‘eaten’ rather than drunk. I love the addition of the summer fruits to this smoothie bowl. It gives it such a vibrant, natural orange colour. Lucuma is a natural sweetener, full of antioxidants, Iron, Beta-Carotene, Vitamin B and Fibre. It is also anti-inflammatory and an immune booster. Studies show that it is also a natural healer for wounds. A great addition to your breakfast or snack.

Servings 2 people


  • 1 1/4 cups plant based milk (I used Nature's Harvest Soy Milk)
  • 1/2 cup mango (ideally frozen)
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 2 persimmon (also called sharon fruit)
  • 2 tablespoons desiccated coconut plus additional for topping
  • 1 tsp lucuma powder


  • Add milk to blender
  • Add rest of ingredients and blend until smooth (use smoothie setting if blender has this option)
  • Serve and enjoy


Top with more coconut
Serves 2 large portions or 4 small portions
Also turns into a great sorbet if frozen
