Detox Smoothie

I made this green smoothie recipe after I’d had a particularly bad ‘food hangover’ after eating processed food-an unusual occasion in my household which I don’t want to repeat again and learnt a lot from. The smoothie is a great way to kickstart your system back into a healthy routine.

Servings 2 people

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups filtered water
  • 1 apple, cored and chopped
  • 1 orange, peeled and roughly chopped
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1/2 lemon, with rind if organic
  • 1 cup spinach leaves
  • 1 cup lettuce (any variety)

Instructions
 

  • Add water to blender
  • Add rest of ingredients (greens last) and blend until smooth (use smoothie setting if blender has this option)
  • Serve and enjoy
