Kiwi and Mint Green Smoothie
A refreshing and healthy smoothie, perfect for summer
I made this green smoothie recipe after I’d had a particularly bad ‘food hangover’ after eating processed food-an unusual occasion in my household which I don’t want to repeat again and learnt a lot from! Read more about that here. The smoothie is a great way to kickstart your system back into a healthy routine.
Pineapple and mint-such a perfect summer blend. My smoothies are often made up of whatever I have in the house at the time. The addition of alfalfa sprouts to this smoothie adds extra goodness. Full of fibre, protein and Vitamin K.
This smoothie is a great way to get your greens in without being able to notice. Low in calories, but high in nutrients blueberries are a great addition to your diet. They contain the highest antioxidant capacity of all commonly eaten fruit and vegetables.
This really does taste like Christmas pudding in a glass, but there is no reason why you should only enjoy this during the festive season. It would be perfect all year round. It is also perfect as a post-workout drink.
You don’t need to be living in the tropics to enjoy this. Just blend up and dream that you are lying on the beach in a hammock sipping your tropical smoothie! Not only that but with the superfoods lucuma and maca you will be sure to feel great. Lucuma has been showing to have immune-boosting properties as well as supporting cardiovascular health. Maca is great for athletes as it increases stamina and endurance. It is also great to support mood and hormone imbalances.
A healthy smoothie that is filling and appetizing. A great way to start the day.
